Jacksons birthday’s coming up so I’ve been kicking around a few ideas for his party invite. It’s pretty lame I guess but it was cool how I did it all just with Firebug. Switched around some CSS values and updated some text on the page. Kinda reminds me of back in the day playing around with XSS and HTML injections – we’d mainly do it to test for security vulnerabilities, but sometimes we’d have some fun switching out the images and stuff. I’ve really only used Firebug in this way to tweak stuff I’m working on, but it was pretty…
I didn’t do it on my own, a couple of people came and went, but essentially it was just a core team of two – Dug and myself, and of course a creative director who had the vision to believe in us and just let us go crazy with it. And it wasn’t a wheel we invented it was a website. Its form and function was so well crafted the next agency that came along couldn’t help but precisely replicate it.
And that’s okay. Some creatives in the industry find it shocking, it’s the buzz of the city right now,…
The one where I blog about winter boots. I’ve lived here in Michigan for eight years now. That’s eight winters of shoveling an average of four feet of snow over a season. So about 32 feet of snow shoveled in the bitter cold, covering my feet with nothing more than my regular old sneakers – usually Nike, Adidas, or Puma, depending on who was sponsoring me that year. And I got away with it too, looking back it probably wasn’t the most sensible move I ever made, especially when you see the size of my driveway, but it’s been all…
The guy’s nailed it. The Short and Sweet Guide to Being Fucking Awesome Just fucking read it. Fucking now already. See! Fucking awesome.
This is a nutty one. When I was a kid there was a TV commercial for Kia-Ora fruit drink. The deal is this kid’s walking along drinking his juice and a crow (in a zoot suit) happens by and wants some, to which the kid responds “It’s too orangey for crows, it’s just for me and my dog”. But the crow wants some so bad he makes like a dog and starts barking. And I don’t wanna even attempt to get into what happens next, just watch it.
Yeah that’s some weird shit right? I was just minding my own…
I wanna not be the guy that throws out blanket statements like ‘poetry sucks’. Fact is I think it mostly does. But that’s a personal opinion, it does suck, but only to me. It’s kind of a dirty little secret that I’ve been keeping to myself for the best part of the last 20 years. It’s one of those things that you can’t think sucks, poetry’s so deep and meaningful and if you think it sucks then you’re basically saying you’re shallow and superficial. Fuck that.
I guess I’m getting my shoes filled with urine….

Today we celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. The guy was a stud. A legend. A powerful figure in our recent history that truly represents freedom and change. Whether you’re black or white or yellow or brown, or anything in between, or maybe even you’re a “grey” visiting us from another galaxy. Whoever the fuck you are, if you learn about that man and what he did for us you’ll know that no matter how bleak today is there is always hope for a brighter tomorrow….
But it’s how he did it that’s equally important. Words. Peace.
Jackson’s turning two next month. He loves balloons. We get him a balloon every now and again and he goes nuts for it. The balloon even hangs around for days after its lost most of its helium and is just a wrinkled up pathetic version of its former self. Eventually we just put it out of its misery in the dead of night whilst he sleeps unawares. He has no problem letting a balloon die in this fashion. But one week it all went wrong. He got a balloon at the mall which wasn’t tied on correctly and as soon…
